Virgin "Gorillaz" Spot

Great little spot - awesome tune. Enjoy.

What can I say...I like it.

I like this spot - it's nicely art directed, has a great remix tune supporting it, and frames the perfect day. Definitely leaves me feeling refreshed.

Show Them The Way

Pretty hilarious, and pretty crude - surprising that it got on TV (imho):

Kate Winslet in "Extras"

Not sure how many of you have see HBO's "Extras", but it's hilarious. This clip is great and very indicative of how the show flows:

"They Call it Pollution. We Call it Life"

A stunning display of how insane this whole political environment can get. The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) is an energy industry-sponsored think tank that has developed a series of TV spots to combat the negative opinions being developed by Al Gore's new movie "An Inconvenient Truth". You're not going to believe these.

Geometric Sculpture

Amazing pieces of art developed with a process called "3D Printing". This woman is able to visualize her art, and then convert her imagination to a CAD program, which in turn provides the data to the printer:

"To start with, the design is laid down, one layer at a time, in stainless-steel powder held in place by a laser-activated binder. You can see the layering on the finished pieces, it is the source of the characteristic texture of my work. Each layer is .004" to .007" thick.

The steel granules are so fine that they feel like very heavy, cool flour. During the build the extra unbound powder supports the piece, so no extra structure is needed to handle undercuts. The powder is very flowable, it's not caky like cornstarch, so removing this extra supporting powder from the finished model is quite easy. It slides off with a little shake and a light brush, and it can be poured out of interior spaces. "

Web 2.0 Presentation

I delivered a presentation to the global webmasters of all L'Oreal brands a few weeks ago and thought some might find it interesting. That said, there's not much narration to it - I talked through many points in real time. In case you're more interested in seeing the sites mentioned in the presentation, you can check out my Del.icio.us links (What's Del.icio.us you ask?):

Ultimately, this is all about finding new ways of communicating, sharing and interacting online. It's going to be incredible to see how the web evolves when you take into consideration the incredible growth and creativity we've seen in the past 10 years.

Shawn White Commercial

I thought this was a beautiful spot - simple, nicely executed, and well targeted:

The NYT Rips off Sigur Ros

First, the commercial (pay special attention to the soundtrack):

Then...listen to a clip from the Sigur Ros track entitled "Se Lest":

If you're interested, here's the full song which is featured on their album "Takk":
